Finally Sprucing Up The “Man Cave”

Ever since my sister-in-law, and her family left I have been trying to get my “Man Cave” setup the way that I want.  Well, the other day I got an opportunity to get a little bit further with the project.  I received a flyer from one of my suppliers that would allow me to get tv brackets extremely cheap.  My wife has been very sceptical about hanging the tv on the wall, but I told her that the wall is just fine, and structurally sound.

Now the next step is to actually decide to put the tv up, and tweak out the sound system.  After that I will just have to find time to use the “Cave” again, as work has been getting very abundant, and keeping me busy.

Cheap TV Display For Miscellanous Use

I have been trying to find a cheap display that I can take with me as needed for my Playstation 3, and whatever else.  Well today I found a very cheap solution.  If you have a newer lcd monitor with DVI connectors that isn’t being used then just get yourself dvi to hdmi cables.  You may not get the highest resolution, but it will serve the purpose.

If you have any other money saving solutions please feel free to let me know, or comment here.

3D Isn’t All That In My Eyes

I have been having some very serious conversations with some of my personal lifelong customers.  A couple of them have been hounding me for my opinion on 3D tvs.  I hate this part of my business.  The reason I hate this part is because I am not a saleman.  I will get you whatever you want, and not sell you anything extra.  This is part of the reason that I am quite well known for giving what someone wants, and nothing else.  I explained to the customers that in all reality in my impression that a LCD / LED HDTV is a better buy at this point in time.  3D tvs just don’t have what the movie theaters are able to give.  On top of that the price of the glasses makes me want to run the other way.  When 3D works without a special pair of glasses then I will be impressed.  There will be numerous markets that will want in at that point.  Video gaming will definitelly take a turn when they can put 3D First Player Shooters on the screen and have it so the user is interacting with the game through his/her environment.  Sony Playstation Move is very close.  They would just need to make it so we can duck, and move through the game by using our bodies.  Another big factor is that a lot of the cable companies still don’t have their act together, and they still give an analog picture, and represent it as digital.  You can’t broadcast a 3D show on a analog signal.  That’s a FACT.  Get 3D straightened out, and I will buy one.

Do you have a 3D tv?  Why did you get it?
