Smoking Is Going To Get Hurt

I recently read some of the legislation that the President is looking to put through.  One of the things he is looking to cap off is the sale of cigarettes over the internet.  What I don’t understand is that the President sees how much alcohol is hurting the people of the nation, and he doesn’t want to do anything about that.  Think about it… How many people get injured, or killed daily because of alcohol?

I am sure that there is someone working to keep alcohol out of the limelight, and I am also sure that there is someone working to keep cigarettes in the limelight.  The other hot thing that isn’t being acted on as hard as could be is cell phones.  Between cell phones, and alcohol I would think that the death / injury count is greater than smoking injuries / deaths.

I know that when they push this law into effect that I will have to go to electronic cigarettes.  What is your take on this?

Smoking Outside

We made a major change at our house when we came home from Disney.  We have tried several times to keep our smoking outside, but it never seemed to work.  This time it looks like it may successfully work.

For the last 1 1/2 weeks there have been no slip-ups.  Noone has lit a cigarette in the house.

Actually with having to smoke outside I have found that I am smoking a lot less.  I just have to find something like gum, or candy.  It will help keep my mind off of wanting a cigarette while I am sitting around.  My wife seems to smoke about the same amount.  I can’t take everything away from her, as dieting is stressfull enough, and I don’t want to stress her more.

We have “friends” that hang out with us while we are smoking.  A group of carpenter bees hover by us continually while we smoke.

Can’t understand it.

The Debate – Alcohol or Smoking

I am a smoker, and I do not drink.  I am not bias in either situation.  I choose not to drink because one of my previous jobs showed me what alcohol can do to a life.

The government has brainwashed everyone to fully believe that smoking is bad.  While this may be true, they don’t brainwash anyone about the truly harmful “Alcohol.”  Being that there are no actual “set in standard” statistics for either incident there are many sources that can show statistics that they have compiled.

While smoking causes “First Hand”, and “Second Hand” diseases there are many factors to take into consideration.  While cancer is not something to take lightly, there is no puplicly shared hard proofed data regarding deaths caused by “smoking.”  They can say someone died from cancer, but I have yet to read “died from smoking.”

In my area of the globe we have a town that had a cancer outbreak that was apparently linked to a company with initials CG.  Cancer has been suspectedly linked to automotive exhaust, drinking, and quite a few more things.
