Beautiful Weather To Work In

The other day we were all privelidged enough to get our first “Snow”.  Well, in my area we got a lot of rain all day, and finally at night the hail came.  Our cars got a light dusting, and that is about it.

That was told to you so you could understand this…

I started doing a job at my neighbors home.  Because of her work schedule I could only start installing her DirecTV dish.  She had an antenna, and then she had cable.  The costs of cable got out of hand.  Antennas require some maintenance if they aren’t installed correct.  Last thing I said to her before she left for work was that I was concerned that we would get some bad weather on the following day.  The next morning it was ugly.

I can assemble DirecTV dishes rather quickly.  Installing them isn’t that long of a process either.  Trying to pin a DirecTV antenna isn’t the easiest thing to do in the middle of hail, rain, and snow.  I finally got the dish perfect.  I had to go and change because I didn’t want to get her house all watered up.  This was all to help my neighbor save some money.

I wish there was a way to schedule in weather based on the type of work.

3D Isn’t All That In My Eyes

I have been having some very serious conversations with some of my personal lifelong customers.  A couple of them have been hounding me for my opinion on 3D tvs.  I hate this part of my business.  The reason I hate this part is because I am not a saleman.  I will get you whatever you want, and not sell you anything extra.  This is part of the reason that I am quite well known for giving what someone wants, and nothing else.  I explained to the customers that in all reality in my impression that a LCD / LED HDTV is a better buy at this point in time.  3D tvs just don’t have what the movie theaters are able to give.  On top of that the price of the glasses makes me want to run the other way.  When 3D works without a special pair of glasses then I will be impressed.  There will be numerous markets that will want in at that point.  Video gaming will definitelly take a turn when they can put 3D First Player Shooters on the screen and have it so the user is interacting with the game through his/her environment.  Sony Playstation Move is very close.  They would just need to make it so we can duck, and move through the game by using our bodies.  Another big factor is that a lot of the cable companies still don’t have their act together, and they still give an analog picture, and represent it as digital.  You can’t broadcast a 3D show on a analog signal.  That’s a FACT.  Get 3D straightened out, and I will buy one.

Do you have a 3D tv?  Why did you get it?
