Around my house a random fix to something that is broken is nothing uncommon. The other day my wife was complaining about something not working in her car. I went out and tried to see what the problem was. After almost 30 minutes I found that there were two retaining rings that had bent. In most cases I am pretty good about fixing the car, but this time I had to do some research on how to fix the problem. In the end I found the solution, and fixed the problem.
Why do the manufacturers of things try to make it so hard to fix things? I am pretty sure that they want to make the money in the repairs rather than having the regular person fixing it.
About 2 weeks ago we went to a camper place to get a new part for the heating system in the camper we were using. While we were there my wife decided that she wanted to just look at pricing to see how the camper market had gone. The salesman pointed us to a few units. After going through them my wife and I decided on one specific unit. We went back to the campsite to discuss getting it. The next day we went back to the dealer and signed for it.
Once we got it back we went through the camper real good. We checked the few things that we initially addressed at the camper dealer. We found out that the salesman was far from truthful about some things. The floor at the back of the camper has a problem. When we asked the salesman he said that nothing was wrong and that the linoleum was just lifting. He said that was normal. My neighbor, and I put carpet and wood planking down over the linoleum. Originally I was looking at garage floor tiles because I thought that they would be better for the amount of movement.
I used to be a salesman. I can’t stand sales people. They lie no matter what they say. All in all we got a good deal, but the additional work that I had to put into it wasn’t something we planned on.
Back around the beginning of the year I sent my quad to the vocational school to be worked on. It was forgotten for a little while, but they are going to be working on it again. This was a great opportunity to have something fixed, and also help some kids learn something at the same time. I am anxious to get my quad back. I haven’t been quading in quite a few years. I have been given the OK by my uncle L to come to his house and use his acres. Once it comes back I have to dig out my riding clothes, and my bell helmets. I am not like some intelligent people that ride without the correct safety equipment. Wear a helmet if you want to keep your melon intact.
Have you ever missed something even though you didn’t use it in quite some time?
