Nextel Customer Service

I have been fighting with Nextel / Sprint for a while regarding my IC902 Hybrid phone.  The phone was great in the beginning, but I have been having more, and more problems with it.  Between the “white screen” of death, vapor locking, and a few more things, I had enough.

I called account services, and discussed my entire situation, which stems back @ 1 year, when they insisted I would be happier with this phone.  I originally had the I860 Pocket PC phone.  That phone was the bomb.

The woman on the phone reviewed all the notes on my account, and offered me the Renegade.  I wasn’t particularly happy with that, as I like to have the best at all times.  I told the girl that we also needed to look at my plan, as I went over on my minutes a few times.  I was on the FREE incoming plan, and somehow I actually went over.

She then asked which phone I was looking at, and told me that I could have the Blackberry 7000i for $75, or the 8350 for $150.  I told her flat out that the 7000i had issues, and with how much I have spent in the past I didn’t want a piece of trash.  She finally told me she would further discount the 8350, and I could get it for $175 before $100 rebate.  I took the deal.  She changed my plan to the Simply Everything plan, which will only cost me @$10 more than I was spending originally.

I am waiting for the phone, and will give a full review of it when I receive it, and test it a few days.

  1. After reading your post, I decided to contact Sprint yet again. Our IC902 HYBRID was again in need of repairs after for service visits and four more replacements.

    Basically the company suggested I up my lease costs or change my network. Emphatic NO! Its newer technology will not accept my rate plan. End solution-unsettling to say the best–it is sending out a refurb model that it has discontinued to replace the fourth replacement.

    I hope this solves things, but I sincerely doubt it. If the cell phone were a car, it would have been protected by New Jersey’s Lemon Laws.

  2. This is PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE. You do what you have to do. Companies manufacture things so they break easy. The public in a rush lets itself be conned into going for the newer technology. As long as buyers let themselves be ripped off the rich will get richer at the poor man’s expense.
