WordPress 2.8 Review

While I have only had WordPress 2.8 for a few days I have a brief review that I can give you.

I have all of my sites self-hosted on my own servers.  I have WordPress 2.8 installed on each.  The initial upgrade was not hard at all.  I simply clicked the upgrade notice, and it started.  The upgrade was done in minutes.  I would guess that it has to do with database sizes, and such things that you have installed.  I had no Plugin issues, so I lost none of the Plugins that I was using.

The update seemed to make everything in the Dashboard run a bit faster.  One of the biggest improvements that I find is the NEW drag and drop interface for widgets.  Now I can move widgets from sidebar to sidebar without having to retype the data that goes into them.  There were other improvements made to WordPress.  You can now search, download, and install Themes, and Plugins from your control panel.  Another improvement is the screen options tab.  Based on what part of the Dashboard you are in there are many options that you can control.

I am very impressed with this release.  I am very happy that I did the upgrade.

My Wife Is Blogging

Hi, and I would like to thank all of my loyal readers.  My wife has decided that she has found a way to let off a bit of steam, and creativity.  She wants to blog.

She will be doing Wordless Wednesdays, posting about life, and much more.

There is also a Mr. Linky section on her site to promote your contests.

Here’s the best part… She will be running contests.

I got her a domain name, and set up her blog so that it isn’t overwhelmed with junk.

I would like to ask everyone to stop by, and give her a welcoming to the blogging community.

She doesn’t have much content there yet, but I promise that I have her on a schedule to keep the site productive.  By next week there will be a lot more posts.

Modifying our Theme

We have been working on our current theme, and making some modifications.  One of the modifications we have made is the font the is used on 40% of the site.  While you are not required to use our font, we recommend it, as it will give you a bit of change from the ordinary.

You can grab the DisneyPark True Type Font right here.

Just click the link, and hit open. This file is 100% certified virus-free, and spyware free.

I will be adding a link to get the modified Disney theme as soon as I finish small modifications. The original theme was gotten from http://www.magicalkingdoms.com.
