WordPress.Com stats on Self Hosted Blogs

This is going out to all that are having issues with the Blog Stats plugin not working on a self hosted blog.

I have finally uncovered the cause behind some sites with custom themes not being tracked with the WordPress.Com Blog Stats plugin.  Some themes are designed by people that are so headstrong that they need to embed hidden code in their footer.php.

Resolution #1:

Don’t use any custom theme if it isn’t working correct, or there isn’t enough support for it.

Resolution #2:

Find a person that can look at your code, and possibly decode the problem.

Resolution #3:

Make sure that the beginning of your footer.php has the following in it…

<?php do_action(‘wp_footer’); ?>
<div id=”footer”>

The following lines need to be at the end of footer.php.

<?php wp_footer(); ?>
</body>
</html>

After you insert this your blog should start giving information to the WordPress.Com Blog Stats plugin.

I do custom editting of themes.  If you have one you want modified, then let me know, and I will see what I can do.

Disney Christmas Parade Hosts

Have you ever wanted to go to Disney at Christmas?  Well, if you do go, then check on the filming schedule for the Disney Christmas Parade.  Disney has broken filming of the parade into multiple days, and I believe as early as the beginning of December.

Has anyone noticed how much the Disney Christmas Parade has changed throughout the years?  I saw a lot of the changes with how many times I went to Disney.

The parade originally had a star, or two in the parade.  Side Note… at the 1987 Easter Parade my family actually got to have a run-in with Ben Vereen.  Eventually Disney added the music factor, and has continued doing so since.  One of my most favorite musical acts that have been at Disney was Mariah Carey singing “All I want for Christmas.”  (If I could have only been there, I would have been granted a serious Christmas wish that year.)

Disney has gone through a great amount of talent with this parade.  Kudos to the host that has made it the longest with Disney… Regis Philbin.

regis

From 1984 through 1990 Regis was out on the street doing cut shots.

From 1992 through 1995 Regis was co-host.

From 1996 through 1999 there was a different set of hosts.

Starting in 1997 the Disney Christmas Parade was mostly pre-produced.

In 2000 there was no Disney Christmas Parade.

Beginning again in 2001, and as of 2008 Regis and Kelly were the hosts.

Generally Regis, and Kelly seem to broadcast their tv show from Disney in December, and I would have to attribute this to the scheduled filming that they do for the parade.

Regis has aged well, and his work with Disney seems to have paid off.  He has Millionaire, his morning show, and his yearly appearances at the Christmas Parade.

Only time will tell if Disney will eventually cut this parade, like they cut the Easter Parade.

Sprint V950 Review

While the wife has only had the V950 for 1 day I can do a reveiw on it, as I labored over it for hours yesterday to get everything onto it that she wanted.

What you get in the box… Phone, 256mb memory card, wall charger, holster, books.

The only thing bad that I have found so far is that this phone uses a totally different connection for the charger / data port.  It uses a micro usb.  Now we have to purchase another car charger.  I just bought her a new one 2 months ago.  Can’t we just centralize the types of connections that these phones take so that we all don’t have to keep purchasing new stuff when we change out phones?

This phone seems rugged with the rubber type casing it has.  The phone has no antenna.  The phone has no sim card.

Loading pictures, videos, and ringers wasn’t bad.  I initially had the phonebook loading working via bluetooth.  I used the Motorola Phone Tools method via bluetooth.  You need to have the latest version of MPT for this way to work.

To load apps, and games I called Sprint, and the CSR set me up with the $5 internet package.  From there I went through a site that I always use, and sent text messages to the phone with the Jar file attached.  The screen is bigger than the IC902 that my wife previously owned.

Getting the direct connect to work was a bit of a nightmare.  The phone kept coming back to me saying that registration failed.  They found out that the activation rep. hadn’t entered everything correct.

Internet is faster on this phone in comparison to my Blackberry Curve 8350i.  Granted that phone is on Nextel, where the v950 is on Sprint.
